LinkedIn Easy Apply limit: how many applications a day?

Checked on

LinkedIn limits how many Easy Apply applications you can send in a day, and how fast you can send them. It does not publish the number. People who hit the limit commonly report about 50 applications in 24 hours.

What LinkedIn says

LinkedIn's help page on applying for jobs says it "has introduced daily and speed limits on Easy Apply submissions". It gives the reasons too: to help people send thoughtful applications, and to curb automation and bots.

That page gives no number and no reset time. You can read it on LinkedIn Help.

What people report

These points come from guides written by other job tools and from people who hit the limit. We have not measured them ourselves, and LinkedIn can change them at any time.

  • The daily limit is about 50 Easy Apply applications.
  • It is counted over 24 hours, not from midnight.
  • When you reach it, LinkedIn shows a message that you have reached the Easy Apply limit for the day.

There are two limits, not one. The speed limit means that sending many applications in a few minutes can stop you well before the daily number.

What to do when you hit the limit

  1. Wait. The limit lifts by itself. There is nothing to pay and nothing to appeal.
  2. Apply on the company's own site. LinkedIn describes the limit as one on Easy Apply. A job that sends you to the employer's site is a different kind of application.
  3. Do not try to get around it. LinkedIn says the limit exists to curb automation. Working around it is the kind of activity that gets an account restricted.

How to use your applications well

  • Search for exact job titles, not broad words, so the list is short and relevant.
  • Sort by date and apply to new listings first.
  • Skip jobs that need a skill you do not have. An application you cannot back up costs you a slot.
  • Spread applications through the day so you do not trip the speed limit.

JobBot: Auto Apply and the limit

JobBot: Auto Apply is our Mac app that sends Easy Apply applications from your own LinkedIn account. It does not try to get around LinkedIn's limits. It is paced like a person, and you set the most applications per role, so keep that number low. The free plan also stops at 5 submitted applications a day across all job sites. That is JobBot's own limit and is separate from LinkedIn's. See the LinkedIn Easy Apply bot page for how it works.

Be aware that most job boards discourage or prohibit automated applying, and an account can be restricted for unusual activity. The risk is real and it is yours to weigh.
