Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using AlertBox: UPI Voice Alert by Trei ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License

AlertBox is provided with a basic Free tier supported by advertising. Premium unlocks unlimited spoken payment amounts and removes ads. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your Android device for personal, non-commercial purposes.

2. Use of the App

  • Use the app only for its intended purpose - detection and announcement of payment notifications from your banking, UPI, and default messaging apps.
  • Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
  • Do not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app.
  • The app is a utility tool and is not a substitute for official bank or payment-provider notifications. Always verify transactions with the underlying bank/UPI app.

3. Notification Access

AlertBox requires Notification Access (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE) to read payment notifications from supported banking, UPI, and default messaging apps. It also uses RECEIVE_SMS as a direct incoming bank-SMS fallback when payment notification text is redacted; it does not read stored SMS or use READ_SMS or SEND_SMS. Notification and matching bank-SMS content, amount, sender, and message are parsed locally and never transmitted off-device; only hashed quota identifiers and count metadata are sent to enforce the daily allowance. You may revoke Notification Access or SMS permission at any time from Android system settings. Without both capture paths, the app's core TTS reading feature will not work. AlertBox does not request call-log, location, contacts, microphone, or camera permissions.

4. Subscriptions and Ads

AlertBox Free includes ads and speaks the first 10 eligible payment amounts per India calendar day. After that allowance, AlertBox keeps the visual amount available and speaks a clear limit message instead of failing silently. Premium unlocks unlimited spoken payment amounts and removes ads. The optional subscription is managed through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat; pricing, billing, and cancellation are governed by your Google Play account.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The developer does not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or detect every payment notification accurately. Accuracy depends on the notification format used by individual banks, UPI apps, and default messaging apps, which may change without notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including missed or misinterpreted payment alerts.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms when new features are added. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
