Privacy Policy

Trei ("we", "us") makes BioKundli: Marriage Biodata (formerly mShaadi). Families use it to write a marriage biodata or a resume, share it as a PDF and check kundli compatibility. Introductions to other families are optional and off by default. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have.

Using BioKundli Without an Account

You can use BioKundli without signing in. On first launch the app creates an anonymous guest identifier so your biodatas and saved matches can be backed up to our servers at api.trei.dev and restored on the same device. Signing in with Apple or Google is needed only to keep a backup across devices or to use introductions.

Data You Provide

• Biodata details for each family member you add: name, relation, gender, date, time and place of birth, city, religion, caste, gotra, mother tongue, marital status, height, education, occupation, company, income, family details, diet and a short introduction. Only name and gender are required.
• Saved kundli matches: the names and birth details you enter to check compatibility, and the result.
• Account (only if you sign in): your Apple or Google account identifier, name and email address.
• Introductions (only if you turn them on for a family member): the note you send with a request, your responses, chat messages after both families accept, and any reports or blocks you make.

Your biodata is stored on your phone first and the app works offline. Resumes you write in the resume maker stay on your phone and are not uploaded to our servers. BioKundli does not upload photos or contacts, and it does not read your device location. A place of birth or city reaches us only if you type it into a biodata.

How Your Data Is Used

• To build your biodata PDF and calculate kundli matches. Moon positions and Ashtakoot scores are calculated on your phone.
• To back up and restore your biodatas and saved matches.
• To suggest and connect families who have both turned on introductions. Other families see a biodata summary that never includes birth time or place of birth, and chat opens only after both families accept.
• To review reports of abuse. Reports reach our moderation team, who act within 24 hours.
• To provide Premium features you buy.
• To find and fix crashes and errors, and to count how the app is used.
• To show ads in the free version.

We do not sell your personal data.

Advertising and Tracking

The free version includes the ad software of Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network and can show ads from them. Google and Meta receive your device's advertising ID, your IP address and basic device details (model, system version, language), and may use them to choose and measure ads. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent before the ad networks start. On iPhone, BioKundli asks for permission before using the advertising identifier; if you decline, ads are not personalised with it. On Android you can reset or delete the advertising ID in your phone's Settings > Google > Ads. Premium subscribers see no ads.

The app also includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK, which tells Meta when the app is installed and opened, together with the advertising ID, so that we can measure our own ads for BioKundli.

Usage Statistics, Crash Reports and Notifications

• Usage statistics: Firebase Analytics (Google) records app opens, screens viewed, app version, device model, system version, country and language against an app-instance ID, and can read the advertising ID. We may also send simple feature counts (an event name such as "premium purchase started", with no name or account attached) to our own Plausible analytics at lytics.trei.dev.
• Crash and error reports: when something fails, the app sends the error message, the code location (stack trace), the app version and the platform to Firebase Crashlytics and to our own server at api.trei.dev. These reports do not include your biodata.
• Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging gives the app a push token that identifies this installation to Google. BioKundli does not send that token to our servers and does not ask for notification permission in this version.
• Language: sign-in requests to our servers carry your phone's language setting.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging (Google): guest and signed-in sessions, usage statistics, crash reports and the push token. Firebase Privacy.
• Google AdMob: ads in the free version, and the consent message where one is required. Google Privacy.
• Meta Audience Network and Meta SDK: ads in the free version, and install and app-open measurement. Meta Privacy.
• RevenueCat and Google Play Billing or Apple In-App Purchase: purchases, subscription status and purchase history, linked to your BioKundli account identifier, with the app version and platform. We never see your card details. RevenueCat Privacy.
• Apple and Google sign-in: only when you choose to sign in.

Permissions

• Internet and network state: backup, introductions, purchases, ads, and syncing again when the connection returns.
• Advertising ID (Android): used by the ad and analytics software described above.
• Billing: buying and restoring Premium through Google Play.
• Notifications: declared by the notification software built into the app. This version does not ask you to allow notifications.
• App Tracking Transparency (iPhone): optional, for the advertising identifier described above.

Safety

Every introduction card and chat has Report and Block. Blocked families cannot message you. Accounts that break our guidelines may be removed.

Children

BioKundli is meant for adults preparing marriage biodatas, including parents acting for their children. Introductions are only for adults of marriageable age. We do not knowingly collect data from children for introductions.

Data Retention and Deletion

Settings > Delete my data deletes your account, biodatas, saved matches, introduction requests, accepted introductions, the chat messages you sent and the blocks you made from our servers straight away, and clears your biodatas, resumes and saved matches from the app.

If you no longer have the app, email contact@trei.dev from the address you signed in with and we will delete your account and data.

Abuse reports are kept for safety, whether you made them or they were made about you. A kept report holds only the two account identifiers, the reason and the date; any extra note in it is erased and it never holds your biodata. Messages other families sent to you stay in their account. Server backups are overwritten within 30 days. Crash reports and usage statistics are not linked to your BioKundli account.

Data Security

All data is sent over HTTPS. Access to your records on our servers requires your session token.

Your Rights

You can view and edit your biodatas in the app at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of your data or its deletion by contacting us.

Changes to This Policy

We will post any changes here with a new "Last Updated" date.
