Privacy Policy
Trei ("we", "us") makes Satrangi: LGBTQ+ Events (formerly mZing), a community app for LGBTQ+ people in India to find events, support resources and safety tools, and to meet people from events they attend. There is no swiping and no people feed. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and your choices.
Sensitive Information
Using a community app for LGBTQ+ people can reveal information about your sexual orientation or gender identity. We treat everything you do in Satrangi as sensitive: we never sell it, never share it with advertisers, and never use it for anything other than running the app and keeping members safe.
Using Satrangi Without an Account
Events, resources and safety tools work without signing in. On first launch the app creates an anonymous guest identifier so your RSVPs are saved. Signing in with Apple or Google is needed only to see who else is going, make connections, use discreet mode or submit an event.
Data You Provide
- Community profile (only if you sign in): display name, optional pronouns and a short bio.
- Account (only if you sign in): your Apple or Google account identifier, name and email address.
- RSVPs: the events you mark as going or interested.
- Connections: requests you send with a short note, accepted connections and chat messages.
- Safety actions: discreet mode, reports and blocks.
- Event submissions: the event details you submit for review.
Satrangi does not collect your precise location, contacts or photos. You choose your city yourself.
How Your Data Is Used
- To show events and resources and save your RSVPs.
- To show your community profile only to signed-in members who have RSVP'd to the same event, and never while discreet mode is on.
- To deliver connection requests and chat, which opens only after the other person accepts.
- To review reports. Reports reach our moderation team, who act within 24 hours.
- To review submitted events before anyone else sees them.
- To provide Premium, and to fix crashes and errors.
Advertising and Tracking
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network. Ads are never targeted using anything you do in Satrangi, such as events, connections or profile details. On iPhone, Satrangi asks for permission before using your device's advertising identifier; if you decline, ads are not personalised with it. Premium subscribers see no ads.
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics and Cloud Messaging (Google): guest and signed-in sessions, anonymous usage statistics, crash reports and notifications. Firebase Privacy.
- Google AdMob: ads in the free version. Google Privacy.
- Meta Audience Network: ads in the free version. Meta Privacy.
- RevenueCat: subscription status and purchase history. RevenueCat Privacy.
Safety
Every attendee card, request and chat has Report and Block. Blocked members cannot contact you. Discreet mode hides you from attendee lists while you keep browsing and RSVPing. Accounts that break our community guidelines are removed.
Age Requirement
Satrangi is only for people aged 18 and over. We remove accounts we find belong to anyone younger.
Data Retention and Deletion
Profile > Delete account deletes your account, community profile, RSVPs, connections, messages, blocks and any unpublished event submissions from our servers straight away. You can also email us to ask for deletion. Server backups are overwritten within 30 days.
Data Security
All data is sent over HTTPS. Access to your records on our servers requires your session token.
Your Rights
You can edit your profile and discreet mode in the app at any time, and you can ask us for a copy of your data or its deletion by contacting us.
Changes to This Policy
We will post any changes here with a new "Last Updated" date.
