Back to Trei Git Contribution - Android and iOS App

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 2, 2026  |  Last Updated: July 2, 2026

Sanjay Gangwar ("we", "us", "the developer") built Git Contribution as a coding activity tracker and home screen widget. This privacy policy explains what data the app uses, why it is used, and how you can contact us.

Git Contribution is an independent utility for personal coding activity reflection. It is not affiliated with any third-party source code hosting provider.

Data You Provide

  • Public profile username - used to fetch contribution activity for the profile you choose.
  • Server URL - optional, used when you connect a self-hosted git service.
  • Optional access token - used only when you choose to fetch private or account-specific contribution activity.

Data Stored on Your Device

  • Saved profile names, provider type, usernames, and optional server URLs.
  • Optional access tokens, stored by the app for future refreshes.
  • Cached contribution counts used to render the in-app graph and home screen widget.
  • Premium entitlement state used to remove ads after purchase.

If you uninstall the app, locally stored app data is removed by the operating system.

How Your Data Is Used

  • To fetch and display contribution activity for the profiles you save.
  • To update the app preview and home screen widget.
  • To show ads to free users and verify Premium subscriptions that remove ads.
  • To troubleshoot app reliability and support requests.

We do not sell your personal data.

Network and Backend Use

The app may contact source hosting services you configure, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, Apple App Store and Google Play Billing, and Trei services at api.trei.dev for app configuration or support. Requests are sent over HTTPS where supported by the destination service.

Permissions

  • Internet - required to fetch contribution activity, load remote app configuration, show ads, and verify purchases.
  • Home screen widget access - used by the operating system to display and refresh the Git Contribution widget.

Third-Party Services

  • Google AdMob - ads for the free tier. Google Privacy.
  • Google User Messaging Platform - consent prompts and ad privacy choices where required.
  • Meta/Facebook Audience Network - ad mediation and fallback ads for the free tier where enabled by backend configuration.
  • RevenueCat - subscription entitlement management and purchase status. RevenueCat Privacy.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play Billing - payment processing for optional Premium subscriptions.
  • Trei backend - app configuration and support services through api.trei.dev.

Subscriptions

Premium removes ads from the companion app. The widget, providers, profile management, and contribution graph remain available without Premium. Subscription purchases are processed by the platform store and entitlement status is managed through RevenueCat.

Terms of Use (EULA): Apple Standard EULA

Data Retention and Deletion

Saved profiles and cached activity remain on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app. You can request deletion of any support records by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Git Contribution is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. Updates will be posted here with a revised "Last Updated" date.
