Privacy Policy
Sanjay Gangwar ("we", "us", "the developer") built DeskClockReloaded as a free Android application - a landscape clock with clock faces, weather details, notifications, ads, and a Premium subscription that removes ads. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your data.
The short version: DeskClockReloaded stores clock settings locally, uses third-party SDKs for ads, analytics, crash diagnostics, messaging, sign-in, and subscriptions, and may send device identifiers, app activity, crash data, purchase status, and coarse location to provide app features.
Data We Collect or Share
- Approximate location - used when you allow location access so supported clock faces can show local weather.
- Name and email address - used only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- User IDs and device or other IDs - used for sign-in, notifications, ads, analytics, subscriptions, crash reporting, and app visit tracking.
- Purchase history or subscription status - used to provide and restore Premium remove-ads entitlement status.
- App activity - such as app opens, screen/theme interactions, ad interactions, and settings or feature usage.
- Crash logs and diagnostics - used to find and fix stability and performance issues.
Data Stored on Your Device
- Clock preferences — theme, font size, 12/24 hour format.
- Quote preferences — enabled/disabled, frequency, category.
All local data is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Permissions
- ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION - Show local weather on supported clock faces after permission is granted.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Show motivational quote notifications.
- INTERNET — Serve ads and verify subscription status.
- WAKE_LOCK — Keep the screen on while the clock is displayed (user-toggleable).
Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob — Free tier ads. Google Privacy.
- Meta Audience Network — ad mediation fallback. Meta Privacy.
- RevenueCat — subscription management for "Remove Ads". RevenueCat Privacy.
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance, Messaging, Auth, Realtime Database) — sign-in, notifications, crash diagnostics, performance data, and usage metrics. Firebase Privacy.
- OpenWeather — weather data based on approximate location when weather is enabled. OpenWeather Privacy.
Account and Data Deletion
If you signed in with Google, you can request deletion of your DeskClockReloaded account data by emailing contact@trei.dev with the subject "DeskClockReloaded account deletion request". Include the Google email address used in the app so we can locate the account.
When we receive a valid request, we delete the Firebase account profile data we control, including stored name, email address, and app-linked user record, within 30 days. Local clock preferences can be removed immediately by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. Some records handled by third-party services, such as purchase records, crash logs, ad data, or analytics records, may remain with those providers according to their retention policies or legal requirements.
Children's Privacy
DeskClockReloaded is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Data Security
Local data is protected by Android's app sandboxing. Data sent from the app or its SDKs is transmitted over encrypted connections where supported by the service provider.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when new features are added. Any changes will be posted here with an updated "Last Updated" date.
